Rope Slip Lead
We had some friends staying over last weekend and it was awesome. Sometimes a weekend spent with nice people, good food, splendid weather and a few fun activities can feel like a proper holiday.
Our firends have two girls aged 9 and 12 and a nice labrador retriever so as you can imagine there was no boredom. While our daughter is just under one and activities with her can go only to a certain level, with C. and L. we had a great time swimming, building sand castles, bike riding, punting, playing darts and we also had a good old crafting session involving hemp rope. As you would probably guessed it by now from the title, we made some dog leads.
We went to our local DIY and hardware shop Finbows Yard and we bought an O metal rings and a D- link and analyzed the the log leads for sale.
At home we watched some YouTube tutorials to learn how to splice rope. It gets easier if you practice…
Once you know how to splice the rope it’s very easy to make a slip lead.
We made three slip leads:
- One with a O metal ring (Made by me)
- One with a D -link (Made by C)
- One made only with rope (Made by L)
Apologies for the poor picture quality
It took us about half of an hour each to make our slip dog leads and then we tried the leads on Goldie.
Doesn’t it look gorgeous?
